This is one of our most popular classes. Black tap shoes and pink ballet shoes required for the tap/ballet class. Clean tennis shoes and barefoot for the hip hop/tumbling class. Proper dance attire is required.
This class stresses technique. Barre work, center work, turns and progressions across the floor. Combinations may be taught. This class will not have a recital dance.
MUSIC
Private lessons taught by skilled and caring teachers. Lessons are either ½ hour or 1 hour long. Lessons are taught on an individual basis according to ability and age. Instrumentation, sight reading and music theory are taught, while building confidence in students of any age. Piano, flute, guitar, bass, drums, clarinet, and vocal lessons are taught on a one to one setting. All music students are encouraged to perform at our private lesson show, which is put on by TDS twice a year--every December and May.
ALSO VOCAL ENSEMBLE CLASS! This class is designed for the vocalist that wants to perform in a group. Students will learn both melody and harmony work, with a chance to perform solos. Builds confidence and skills for all singers. Lead by Sean Earle, this group will have ability to perform outside of the studio throughout the year.
The workout begins with an aerobic warm-up and continues with weight-work for muscle definition. This is followed by Pilates for core strength and finishes with a stretch for all muscle groups.
A series of exercises designed to stretch, strengthen and balance the body. The exercises are for general fitness and include jazz type moves.
Partner dancing for adults. This type of dance is solely recreational and is enjoyed by many couples in the area. Amy Tranchida will be teaching group Ballroom classes, or private Ballroom lessons upon request. Please email Amy at ATranchida@hotmail.com to set up a private lesson.
HEY, CHECK THIS OUT:
TDS students are often talented in more ways than just one. Many of our dancers can sing, and many of our musicians can dance. To showcase this, fifty students spent 5 grueling hours at The Soundscape Recording Studio in Royal Oak, Michigan recording their own version of The Black Eyed Pea's hit, "I Gotta Feeling!" Click "Media" at the top of this page to hear it!
